Size Matters
Bath robes for kids begin at the toddler size. To size for your boy or girl, measure from the back of your child's neck down to just above the knee. Compare the measurement to the robe's length. To reduce tripping hazards, make sure your toddler bathrobe does not pass the knee. Older children might think it's fun to have a robe "just like dad's", but in their own size.

Soft as a Baby's....
Little people have sensitive skin. When choosing a bathrobe for your child, avoid scratchy synthetic fibers. Pick something soft and tactile, like high quality terrycloth or cotton velour. A kids microfiber robe might just become your child's new favorite thing to wear.

Cute is King
Is your child fussy in the bath? Try a bath time survival kit! Such a kit might include a hooded terry towel with ears, a printed terry sponge, and a couple terry puppets. Child bath robe sets can be found - even with matching slippers. If your handy with a sewing machine, add some eyes, ears, button nose and smiling mouth to a terrycloth wrap. Hooded robes are fun for playing peek-a-boo.

Make the Parents Proud
Friends with a newborn on the way? Next time you visit the expecting parents, just inquire politely where your friend purchased the towels in the bathroom then purchase your supplies from the same location. Use the matching towels to make a baby bathrobe or wraps. Or, get some photographs of the baby's parents transferred onto cotton fabric. Cut out the photos and sew it onto the bathrobe as patches. Use bright colors and big stitches to add kitsch.

Native American Game for Kids
A buffalo robe is the tanned hide of a buffalo with the fur attached. A Native American game for children about 10 years old was to have the children encircle a buffalo robe. The buffalo is on the ground and the children hold hands. Of course, a bathrobe makes a modern substitute for the nearly extinct buffalo. The point of the game is to avoid touching the robe while everyone tries to pull you onto it. If you touch the robe, you are out. If you break hands, both children are out. The last one remaining wins. This game builds strength, endurance and honesty.
